She turned back to herself at the stroke of midnight, but she carried with her, a glass slipper. American Girl Bitty Twins doll clothes Denim-look set

Another set of doll clothes for 15" dolls. This set is made of cotton fabrics and is a faux denim blue with solid red. The overalls have velco snaps and small pocket on the bib. The overalls also have a back elastic. The shirt is red and has velco snaps To match this, I made a dress with the same red and blue fabrics. I added some trim on the waist and bottom of dress. It has elastic on the edges of the sleeves and two snaps on the back for closure. This set has overcast seams which will not fray through many wash cycles.

American Girl Bitty Twins doll clothes bunting and pj's

Thought I'd give doll clothes a try. :o) These is a handmade set of sleepwear for Bitty Twins dolls or any 15" doll. This set is made of flannel and is light blue with duck pull toys and butterflies print. The bunting has velco snaps and comes with a separate bonnet. The pj's are made with the same fabric with solid blue cuffs on the sleeves and legs. The bottom has elastic waist and the top has velco snaps. Primitive Boot Pin Keep~Pin Cushion~OOAK

This is one of my original designs. It was handmade using muslin fabric. The boot was painted with acrylic paints in golds and browns, then sealed with a matte sealer which makes the boot look like old leather. I added some gold paint for trim around the top of the foot and all around the edges of the boot itself. The pin cushion part was a separate piece attached to the boot. I added a prim hangtag that reads “1809”. It measures 9 inches tall including the 1 ½ inch heel.

The head is made of paper clay, cloth body with button joints at the shoulders and wooden ball joints at the elbows. The cage is made of wood and painted with acrylic paints. The doll is also painted with acrylics and stained to give it a vintage look. This doll has now moved to CT.

Mixed Media Angel on 16 x 20 canvas. "Angel Of Love." I used a painting knife to add lots of texture to the background of the painting. Other materials used were acrylic paints, modeling paste on the dress and one of the hearts. Religious reading in the second heart and fabric for the third. The angel holds a small heart and has the word "Love" painted along the right side of the painting. This painting was painted all along the edges also and is ready for you to hang. Another Nothing New Old Cloth Doll~OOAK~SOLD

Her body was made using an old flannel sheet. The attached head and shoulder plate was made using cotton sheets. I stuffed the doll with cedar sawdust and coffee stained her a bit. Her neck, arms and legs are tied at the joints with macrame cord. She has several hand sewn stitched on patches on her arm and a few stitches on arms and legs. The hair was created using macrame cord and vintage buttons. She has pinched nose and painted eyes and mouth. These were sanded down a bit to give it some age. Her dress was made with an old cotton shirt. I sewed one of the top seams inside out as if it had been repaired by hand. I addes some old cotton eyelit trim to the bottom of her dress. It is held in a couple spots with rusty safety pins. She needed a patch on her dress so that was stitched on and held at the top with a rusty safety pin. Vintage buttons were added to the front of her dress. So....voila, my little Sadie is complete. She measures 21 inches tall. :o)Has now moved to CA. my auctions

Vintage OOAK Carved Wooden Doll~Nothing New Challenge Doll

Her name is Penny and is a one of a kind doll made of an old vintage wooden lamp. The head was hand carved, painted and some crackling done to her face. I added a couple of driftwood pieces for her arms. The rest of the items are all rusty, vintage items. Starting with the top, I made a pin cushion using stained fabric stuffed with cedar sawdust. This holds several rusty pins and safety pins. I added more rusty pins around the top of her hat along with a tape measure. She wears a rusty safety pin necklace, painted dress bodice and vintage buttons along the front of her skirt. She has a vintage button on one shoulder and a rusty hook on the other which holds a stream of vintage buttons and bobbins. In one hand, she holds a rusty pair of scissors that are super rusty!!! Several old spools of thread were added to the base, along with a hangtag and tiny dress that reads “1809.” Also included is the vintage doily that this doll sets on. So much to see on this vintage looking 16 inch doll.

This is my latest witch art doll. Her face and shoulder plate is hand sculpted using paper clay. Gineeta has beautiful, acrylic brown eyes with warts on her cheek, nose and chin. She has long, individual wired fingers with 3-D black fingernails and facial features that were carefully sculptured. Her arms bend so that she can hold her blinking pumpkin lantern. She has now moved to California.

I am back! It's been some time since I've posted anything. The birth of my first grandchild was beautiful and so was my son's wedding in the Philippines. Now I am ready to sit at my sewing machine and make some one of a kind dolls. :o)

Here is Celeste. Celeste is a one of a kind moon and stars doll made of muslin fabric with hand sculpted paper clay head and shoulder plate. The face, arms, legs and boots were painted with acrylic paints. Stars were also painted to the top of her head and down sides of her face. Celeste has applied thumbs and measures 17 inches tall. She wears a removable clothing of lacy pantaloons, petticoat and dress. The dress is a brick red cotton print with tiny beige stars. It also has a false hem which is a contrast fabric to the dress. The same fabric as the false hem was used inside the sleeves and for her petticoat. The doll body was designed by Dixie Redmond.
Celeste has now moved to California.

Paper Mache Giraffe completed!

I have finally finished the giraffe. His name is Nagol and will be displayed in my soon-to-be grandson's room. I love the way he turned out. This has been my biggest project so far which took me a little over 3 weeks to complete. He looks great in the baby's room. :o)

While I'm visiting my daughter and waiting for our first grandchild to arrive, I decided to create a paper mache giraffe. He is going to be 6 ft tall and will be displayed in the baby's jungle theme bedroom. Here is the giraffe which was started using a chicken wire sculpture.

I haven't been making any new dolls lately. I've been on vacation visiting family and friends along the mid and eastern coast. I am currently with my daughter and her husband awaiting our first grandchild! While I'm here, I'll try making a 6 foot paper mache giraffe. 12 inch Izannah Walker style doll~OOAK~SOLD

Clara is a one of a kind doll made of muslin fabric with hand sculpted paper clay head and shoulder plate. The head was sculpted over fabric, then covered again with stockinette fabric. I then painted her with acrylic paints. She was washed down with a staining mixture to give her just the right patina, aged look just like you would have taken her out of an old chest in the attic. :o) She wears painted red boots. Ringlets were also painted to the sides of her face and back of head. Clara has applied thumbs. She measures 12 inches tall. She has a second skin which covers her body and wears removable clothing of chemise, pantaloons, petticoat and dress. The dress is tiny red plaid. I added a couple some zigzag trim to the bodice and sleeves of the dress to make it look like one of Izannah Walkers doll once wore. Her pantaloons have some lace at the bottom of the legs and her petticoat was made using vintage fabric.

He's wears a velour suit which looks like the ones boys wore in the 1800's. He has a paper clay head and shoulder plate. Painted him with acrylics and gave him a bit of crackling for that aged look. Raggedy Ann was coffee stained and baked to give her a good ole prim look. The pictures don’t do it justice. She has painted facial features and painted stockings and shoes. She has individual wired fingers with painted fingernails too! One arm is bent slightly so that she can make a few of her signs. Folk Art Angel~Hope~ OOAK Mixed Media Painting~SOLD

This was an old shudder door which I removed the inside from and added a ¼ inch plywood. The textured background was painted in acrylics with various colors and designs. I then painted a sweet folk art angel named "Hope." She wears a ¼ inch thick polymer clay dress which has a small metal embellishment that says "Hope". The dress has lots of texture and embellishments, sprinkled lightly with glitter. The frame was painted barn red and crackled. The whole piece measures 26 x 9 x ¾ inch thick. Lots of detail to this One of a Kind Mixed Media Art. Will now be hanging in CA.

Meet Sabrina.....she was made of muslin fabric with cotton lycra skin overlay on the face so that there isn’t any center seam. She was coffee stained and baked to give her a good ole prim look. The pictures don’t do it justice. Sabrina has cloth upper body and an open book with her favorite kitchen photo of a black cat, horn of plenty and her cauldron on the stove as the lower part of her body. She stands on an 8” round wooden base which was painted black with white spider webs. Sabrina has beautiful, acrylic green eyes and painted mouth. She has long, individual wired fingers with 3-D black fingernails and facial features that were carefully sculptured. Her arms are bent slightly so that she can hold her dress back to show her book of recipes for all seasons. She will be living in CA. :o)

Little Red Riding Hood~Wolf~Art Doll~Split Personality~SOLD

I enjoyed making this One of a Kind Split Personality Art Doll!!!! On the Little red riding hood side, she has blue acrylic eyes and painted facial features. Sheeps wool was felted securely to her head to give her nice long curls. Her dress was made using various print reds with hooded cape to match. She has black pearl beads for a bracelet, red stockings and black leather-look shoe. Her pantaloons are white. She has wired fingers and holds her little basket which she was bringing to Grandmas house.

On the wolf side, she has blue acrylic eyes, bushy eyebrow and painted facial features. Her hair is short, brown fun fur. She has long, individual wired fingers with 3-D black fingernails with a bit of fun fur on her arm. Her cap belonged to grandma and has a wolf ear sticking out from the top side of her cap. Her nightgown was made with flannel fabric with a fun fur trim and fun fur tail coming out from the back of her gown. Her stockings are white with fun fur around the top. She has a black leather-look boot too! :o)

Esmeralda has brown acrylic eyes and painted mouth. She is SHOCKED to feel herself melting away! Esmeralda tried to put a spell on someone and it backfired on her! Poor, poor Esmeralda. She has long, individual wired fingers with 3-D black fingernails and facial features that were carefully sculptured. One arm is bent so that she can hold herself slightly before falling over as her hip is slowly melting away. The other arm is close to her face with disbelief of what is happening to her body. The hips have melted away but the legs are still in tack with her boots curling up ever so slowly. She has now moved to NE.

Grandma Zulee has brown acrylic eyes. She has long, individual wired fingers with 3-D black fingernails and facial features that were carefully sculptured. Her arms are bent so that she can hold her carved pumpkin. Granny has now moved to NE :o)

Guess it's about time I have a blog giveaway. This is how is goes......I have this doll which is a work in progress piece. She isn't wearing the outfit planned for her.... I just draped some lace to see how she was coming along. :o) The first person to guess who she is and post it in a comment, will receive this awesome 4 x 6 encaustic painting that I made. Encaustic art is made using colored wax and an iron. If you look closely, you can see images of castles in a distance. Brilliant colors in this fantasy art. :o) Good luck! This witch bride and late hubby are handmade using only top-quality materials. This is a one of a kind, torso doll measuring 14 inches tall. She was attached to a flat, round base so that she won’t topple over. Faces are hand sculpted and painted with acrylics then sealed with an acrylic matt spray sealer to lock in colors. Hair is made of sheep’s wool and was felted securely to the heads. Various materials were used for Melusine's wedding gown. Handmade black cotton dress with maroon, satin lace-up front. The dress waist has a ruffled skirt with puffed upper sleeves. The gloves are black fishnet and her veil is black tulle with black satin train. They have now moved to VA.

I designed and created this sweet, primitive old hag witch named Haggatha. :o)

She was made of muslin fabric, coffee stained and has painted features which were done with acrylic paints. She has a soft sculptured face and individual, wired fingers with black 3-D fingernails. Her hair is gray sheeps wool felted securely into her scalp. Haggatha measures 30 inches tall and is ready to make some spooky desserts with the worms she carries in her cauldron. Lots of attention to detail. Cape, dress, panaloons and boots are all removable. She now lives in VA.

Someone emailed me and told me about the witch legend which I thought was very interesting so I asked her if I could use her description for my next witch. Thanks Gerri!
The women of olde (witches who were burned, not in this country) were battered and bruised, teeth knocked out, dragged by wagons and were unrecognizable. They were so sick they were a shade of green. Well, this gal is a shade of green, teeth missing and a bit bruised. She is still recognizable though. :o) I made her using muslin fabric, coffee stained her and added a touch of light green color to her skin tone. Lots of attention to detail in her soft sculptured facial features. She has now moved to CT.:o)

The witch kneels on the earth and has the moon in her lap. :o) I made a wire armature so that it would keep its shape for years to come. Lots of sculpting and attention to detail. A repeated buyer of my dolls had requested that I make a witch doll for her mom who always loves to sit outside on Halloween day to give treats to the kids. I received a photo of this lovely lady who will be 83 years old next week. She holds her little witch named Clemencia (which is also her name.) They look so adorable together!!!! Thanks Maria for sending the picture and allowing me post it here for all to see. :o)

Alabama Baby Repro Doll~Cloth over Clay~OOAK

Thanks to Deanna Hogan's (blueherondolls)cloth over clay tutorial, I was able to create this adorable one of a kind doll! She measures 18 inches tall and made of muslin fabric. The head is made of polymar clay and covered with a cotton knit fabric. Ears were applied and the head was gessoed and sanded a few times, then painted with acrylics. The hands have attached thumbs and were gessoed and painted. The legs were also done in the same way as the arms. They have painted on stockings and shoes. The painted areas were sealed with a matte sealer.

I made her outfit using vintage old fabric. The fabric colors were slightly faded in some areas which makes this doll look vintage. Perfect outfit for this little gal. Her pantaloons are trimmed in lace to match her dress, hat and pinafore. All clothing are removable. She is still for sale on etsy.com
